After completing a master’s degree in the fragrance industry, I wanted to find a way to make perfume making more accessible to everyone. Creating your own fragrances can be difficult. It requires a lot of materials, ingredients are expensive, and information can be hard to come by.
osmanthos demystifies perfume making and equips people with all of the ingredients, supplies and information they need to start creating their own fragrances. It’s an online platform where people can learn, buy kits to make fragrances at home, and create fragrance online using our innovative lab.
osmanthos is a custom web application that was designed and built from the ground up using the CodeIgniter web framework and Stripe for payments. Users can experiment with different blends and combinations to create original scents from our collection of raw materials. In the lab, users can save formulas that they create with their scent kits, then turn any of their favorite formulas into a personalized fragrance.
